How to Convert HEIC to PDF

Three steps, nothing to install. Each photo comes back as its own PDF a second or two after the upload finishes.

1

Select your HEIC photos

Click “Select HEIC photos” or drag up to 20 files into the upload box. Receipts, documents, ID photos, whiteboards: anything your iPhone saved as .heic.

2

Conversion to PDF starts automatically

No convert button. Every photo is decoded at full resolution and written into a PDF page the moment the upload completes.

3

Download your PDFs

Save each PDF on its own or download the whole batch as one ZIP. Links stay active for 30 days.

Why turn a photo into a PDF at all

Because a surprising number of places accept PDF and nothing else. Insurance claims, expense reports, university portals, visa and benefit applications, tender platforms and many company intranets have an upload box that rejects images outright. A HEIC photo of a receipt, a signed page or a whiteboard fails twice over: the portal wants a document, and it cannot read HEIC in the first place.

A PDF fixes both. It opens on every phone, PC and Mac without extra software, previews inline in email clients, prints at the right size at any copy shop, and looks like a document rather than a snapshot. If you only need the picture to open somewhere, HEIC to JPG is the lighter conversion; if a form or a person asked for a PDF, this page is the shortcut.

What your PDF looks like

Each photo becomes a single page PDF. The page has the same proportions as the photo and no margins, so nothing is cropped or padded. The image is embedded at full resolution as JPEG at quality 92, which keeps the file about the size of a normal JPG instead of the 20 MB a lossless PDF would take. The page is sized at 200 pixels per inch, so a 12 megapixel photo prints sharply up to roughly 20 by 15 inches, and PDF viewers scale it to fit the screen automatically.

The orientation is corrected before the page is built, so a photo taken in portrait stays portrait. There is no watermark, no footer and no added text. One thing a converted photo cannot give you is searchable text: the PDF contains the picture, not an OCR layer, so a photographed page can be read but not text searched.

Need several photos in one PDF?

The converter returns one PDF per photo, which is what most upload forms want. When you need a single multi page document, your phone can do it for free: on an iPhone open Photos, select the photos, tap Share, then Print, pinch outwards on the preview and share the result as a PDF. On a Mac, open the PDFs in Preview and drag the thumbnails of one into the sidebar of another. On Windows, select the images in File Explorer, choose Print and pick Microsoft Print to PDF.

For the reverse question, how to get a plain image out of a HEIC on each platform, see how to convert HEIC to JPG and the batch guide convert multiple HEIC files at once.

HEIC to PDF: Frequently Asked Questions

Does the PDF keep the full quality of my photo?
Yes. The photo is embedded at its full resolution, encoded as JPEG at quality 92, which is visually identical to the original for viewing and printing. The PDF is about the size of a normal JPG.
What page size does the PDF have?
The page matches the photo exactly, with no margins, at 200 pixels per inch. A 4032 by 3024 pixel photo becomes a page just over 20 by 15 inches, and every PDF viewer scales it to fit the window or the paper.
Can I convert several HEIC photos to PDF at once?
Yes, up to 20 per batch, 40 MB each. Every photo becomes its own PDF and the batch can be downloaded as one ZIP. To merge them into a single document, use the Print to PDF trick described above.
Is the text in my PDF searchable?
No. The PDF contains the photo as an image, without an OCR text layer. It is perfect for a portal that wants a PDF of a receipt or a form, but it cannot be text searched or copied from.
Can I convert HEIC to PDF on an iPhone without this tool?
Yes. Open the photo in Photos, tap Share, choose Print, pinch outwards on the preview and share the result: iOS produces a PDF. It works on HEIC directly. The online converter is faster for a batch and works from any device.
Is it free and private?
Free, no account, no watermark, no ads. Converted PDFs are stored behind unguessable links for 30 days and then deleted. Nobody views your files and they are never used for anything else.
