1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser to remember things about you: login sessions, preferences, or (very often) identifiers used to track you across the web for advertising. Similar technologies include localStorage and tracking pixels.

2. What this site uses

Nothing that identifies you. Here is the complete picture:

• The converter itself: works entirely without cookies. There are no accounts, no sessions and no preferences to remember. You upload photos, download JPGs, done.
• Rating widget: if you rate the converter after a conversion, your browser keeps a small localStorage entry called hjRated so we do not ask you again. It contains no personal data, is never sent to our server and disappears when you clear your browser data.
• Analytics: we use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a deliberately cookie free tool. It gives us aggregated numbers (how many visits, from which countries, on which devices) and it sets no cookies, uses no localStorage identifiers and does not track you across other websites.
• Google Search Console: we use it to see how the site performs in Google Search. It places nothing in your browser; the data comes from Google's search results, not from this site.
• Third party embeds: there are none. No social media widgets, no embedded videos, no external fonts, no ad networks.

3. Why we built it this way

This is a single purpose tool. You come here to convert HEIC photos to JPG, and nothing about that job requires storing anything in your browser. Skipping cookies entirely keeps the site fast, keeps your browsing private and spares you one more consent popup.

4. If this ever changes

If we ever introduce a feature that genuinely needs cookies, or use localStorage for anything beyond the rating flag above, we will update this page, explain exactly what is stored and why, and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. The "Last updated" date at the top always tells you when this policy last changed.

5. How to check for yourself

You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools (usually F12), go to the Application or Storage tab and look at Cookies for this site: the list is empty. You can also manage or block cookies globally in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all have a "Cookies and site data" section in their privacy settings).
